The International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) has introduced language proficiency requirements for air traffic controllers and pilots with the aim of improving language proficiency levels and reducing the frequency of communication errors worldwide.
BLUE SKY AVIATION Flight School is an ICAO EN (ICAO English) approved organisation by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).
The ICAO English Language test is mandatory for all pilots and student pilots flying outside of their home country where they are native speakers. The aim of the test is to test the pilot’s level of language proficiency in communication in international flight operations. The level of language proficiency achieved shall be endorsed on the pilot’s licence, including the period of validity of the test.
The ICAO EN exam at our flight school can be taken in person or online!
IMPORTANT: Booking an exam date
Please book your ICAO EN test date at least 3 days before the scheduled test date due to the notification obligation to the Civil Aviation Authority.
If an applicant for an ICAO English language test holds a pilot licence issued by a foreign authority other then the Czech Republic or will apply for a pilot licence issued by a foreign authority, at least 5 calendar days’ notice shall be given. Failure to do so will result in the applicant not being admitted to the test.

Our flight school announces regular test dates once a month. Individual dates outside of the announced dates are also possible.
The ICAO EN test can be taken in person at Kladno Airport or online.

If you are a holder of a pilot licence issued by an authority outside the Czech Civil Aviation Authority or you will apply for a pilot licence issued by an authority other than the Czech Civil Aviation Authority, you must notify this fact at least 5 calendar days before the scheduled date of the examination. If you fail to do so, you will not be allowed to take the test.
Those interested in the ICAO English language test have the opportunity to attend the ICAO Aviation English test preparation course. We offer two levels of courses depending on the experience and English language skills of the candidate.
