The Airline Assessment Preparation Course is designed as a comprehensive preparation program for pilots applying for positions with commercial airlines.
The course includes both theoretical and practical components, focusing on mastering airline procedures, cockpit familiarization with the Airbus A320, use of operational documentation, and understanding the professional standards and expectations during airline selection processes.
It is intended for holders of CPL/IR/ME or frozen ATPL licenses who are preparing for a real airline assessment and wish to enhance not only their technical competence, but also their procedural awareness and personal presentation skills required for successful completion.
Training is delivered by experienced airline pilots and instructors with operational backgrounds in commercial air transport and direct experience with multiple airline selection processes across Europe.

Requirements

Theoretical Module

  1. Understanding the Airline Assessment Environment – Introduction to the competitive nature of airline selection, its structure, requirements, and the importance of targeted preparation.
  2. Phases of the Selection Process – Step-by-step analysis from application submission to final simulator assessment, including waiting periods, key decision points, and common pitfalls.
  3. Focused Theoretical Review – Revision of core knowledge areas evaluated during assessments: IFR radiotelephony, ATPL theory, aircraft systems, general and aviation English, mental math, airline-specific knowledge, and behavioral competencies (personal presentation, communication, situational response).
  4. Simulator Check Structure – Overview of assessment profiles, airport environments, typical errors, and evaluation criteria; identifying elements that can be improved through preparation.
  5. SOPs, CRM, and Multi-Crew Operations – Theory of PF/PM roles, communication standards, adherence to SOPs, correct use of callouts, and CRM-based assessment competencies.
  6. Evaluation Systems and Criteria – Understanding how candidates are assessed: knowledge, procedural compliance, communication, teamwork, decision-making, workload management, and flight accuracy.
  7. A320 Cockpit Familiarization – Overview of cockpit layout, preflight preparation, use of main controls (FCU, sidestick, throttles), and working with Jeppesen documentation in a realistic simulator environment.

Practical Module

  1. Simulator Entry and Cockpit Setup – Familiarization with A320 cockpit layout, seat and control adjustment, and setup of panels (RAD NAV, FCU, overhead).
  2. Use of Controls and Documentation – Handling of flight controls (sidestick, thrust levers, flight directors), use of SOPs, checklists, and Jeppesen charts; airport orientation, SID/STAR interpretation, frequencies, and flight phase awareness.
  3. Communication and CRM Practice – Exercise of PF and PM communication roles, CRM application, task sharing, workload management, and coordination with ATC and cabin crew.
  4. Key Flight Exercise Practice – Execution of typical assessment maneuvers: no-FD takeoff, radial intercept, holding patterns, airwork, instrument approaches (ILS, VOR DME, LOC DME), and go-arounds.
  5. Integrated Scenario – Combined flight exercise including SID, holding, STAR, and ILS approach with emphasis on situational awareness, smooth handling, and parameter management.
  6. Debriefing and Feedback – Structured performance review, identification of strengths and areas for improvement, and personalized recommendations for further training.
