The CPL(A) + MEP Land course offers a new, modern and efficient pathway to obtaining a Commercial Pilot Licence (Aeroplane) together with a Multi Engine Piston (Land) rating — all within one integrated training programme. This course is designed for pilots seeking a faster, more professional way to a commercial licence without having to complete two separate training programmes.
Credit of PIC flight time for previous experience into the requirement of total 200 hours
– 30 hours on helicopter for applicant holding PPL(H), or
– 100 hours on helicopter for applicant holding CPL(H), or
– 30 hours on TMG or gliders, or
• 30 hours on airships, if the applicant is a holder of PPL(A), or
• 60 hours on airships, if the applicant is a holder of CPL(A)
Crediting of previous experience shall be obtained from CAA (ÚCL – Úřad pro civilní letectví) before commencing the training course.
• Holder of IR(A) or holder of certificate of completion of basic instrument flight training module shall have the training flight time reduced by 10 hours.
• Holder of IR(H) shall have the training flight time reduced by 5 hours.
CPL(A) + MEP Land Training constitutes a pivotal step toward a professional career in commercial aviation. It combines the Commercial Pilot Licence (which permits remuneration for carrying out flights) with the necessary multi-engine piston rating — a baseline requirement for most aviation employers and essential entry into multi-crew operations. This training markedly enhances a pilot’s market value, opens opportunities with airlines, charter operations, business aviation and other commercial aviation sectors, and establishes a solid foundation for advanced training such as MEP IR(A), MCC or a type rating.
Flight training:
Total flight hours: 25 hours*
– 9 hours on SEP VFR in dual
– 6 hours on MEP VFR in dual
– 5 hours on SEP IR in dual*
– 5 hours on FNPT II in dual*
* if the student is a holder of IR qualification or a holder of certificate of basic instrument flying module, Phase 2 shall not be performed and it shall be fully credited from the previous training.
Theory training:
An applicant must first undertake theory instruction under FCL.310 of 250 hours or ATPL theory of 650 hours before commencing practical training. Upon successful completion of the theory portion, the student will receive a certificate and must pass the theoretical exam at the Civil Aviation Authority before undertaking the final skill test for CPL(A) + MEP Land
Prior to the CPL(A) + MEP final test:
– total 200 hours, of which 100 hours PIC and 20 hours VFR cross‑country flights, including a VFR cross‑country flight of minimum 540 km (300 NM) with full-stop landings at two aerodromes other than the departure aerodrome.
– At least 5 hours of night flying, including 3 hours dual training which must include at least 1 hour cross‑country navigation, and 5 solo takeoffs and full-stop landings.
– 10 hours instrument flight training (IFR), of which a maximum of 5 hours may be conducted on a simulator.
At least 6 hours on a complex multi-engine piston aircraft, i.e. an aeroplane equipped with two engines, constant-speed propellers, retractable landing gear and at least four seats
The price you will have to pay to learn to fly and obtain a pilot’s license varies from person to person and depends on many factors. The price should not be the main factor in deciding where to get your pilot’s license. When it comes to flight training, cheap is rarely good.
Basic factors affecting the cost of training:
Your goals in flying have a significant impact on how your overall flight training will be conducted. If you want to fly only recreationally, training in an aircraft with lighter avionics will be significantly cheaper than compared to a businessman or future professional pilot.
The price of pilot training for individual pilot licenses is set in connection with the number of flight hours in the curriculum, the time of ground preparations, and theoretical instruction in the classroom. Further, it is necessary to count additional expenses for landing and other airport fees and fees for exams at authorities and payments for obtaining necessary permits for training.
