The main aim of this short course is to prepare you for success on the ICAO English Test. Success in this case means achieving a score of 4 or above on each of the exam’s measures.

 

This 3-hour preparatory course is designed for a quick review and refresher and to achieve a higher score on the Aviation English (ICAO EN) exam.

3 hour preparatory course for the ICAO English test

The 3-hour ICAO English  preparation course is designed for those interested in taking the ICAO English test. The aim of the preparatory course is to learn the individual topics of the exam together with the Aviation English instructor so that the candidate can easily navigate through the different phases of the ICAO English test and achieve the best possible result in the test. Similar topics are then used in the test. 

 

Course schedule:

SCHEDULED DATE: The preparatory course for the ICAO EN exam takes place once a month on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., always one week before the scheduled date of the ICAO EN exam. This course is online.

 

INDIVIDUAL DATE: The preparatory course can be taken at any time before the ICAO EN exam, and you can choose whether you want to take the course in person or online.

Content of the 3 hour course

  • Range of general and aviation English vocabulary
  • Correct use of air phrases in response to a specific situation
  • Reading, understanding and translating technical publications in written form (e.g. aircraft operations manual).
  • Understanding of recorded aviation communications and the ability to explain the merits in your own words
  • Ability to respond correctly to simulated communication between ATC and pilot.
  • Ability to understand ATIS, METAR and TAF weather reports.
  • Reading and understanding NOTAMs, including an explanation of the full text of the aeronautical abbreviations used.

A 3-hour refresher preparatory course is also available, always taking place one week before the scheduled ICAO EN exam date. This course is only available online, once a month, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. CET.
