The type rating for the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter authorizes the pilot to fly the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter. The goal of the training course is to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills necessary to obtain the type rating for the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter, i.e., the ability to operate all helicopter equipment and fully exercise the authority of the pilot in command under VFR (visual flight rules) conditions.
Holders of a type rating for a single-engine turbine helicopter (SET) can count 2 hours towards the required length of training. If the training applicant is already qualified on a Eurocopter helicopter equipped with VEMD (e.g., EC 130 B4 or AS 350 B2 and B3), the theoretical training can be reduced by 3 hours.
Graduates of the type rating for the Eurocopter EC120B helicopter can conduct private or commercial flights according to the privileges of their license with the EUROCOPTER EC 120 B Single Turbine Engine (SET) under VFR conditions.
Theoretical Training
Theoretical training in the EC120B – type training course is individual and precedes flight training.

If the training applicant is already qualified on a Eurocopter helicopter equipped with VEMD (e.g., EC 130 B4 or AS 350 B2 and B3), the theoretical training can be reduced by 3 hours.
