We offer the The Instrument Rating Theory Course – IR(A) theory course in the form of distance learning. The instruction is conducted through guided self-study using Computer-Based Training (CBT) and live consultations with an instructor in a virtual classroom.

  • In total, the course includes 150 hours of study. Of which:
  • Consultation with an instructor 18 hours online live in a virtual classroom.
  • Self-study using CBT (computer-based training) through eLearning provided by our school constitutes 85% of the entire course. For self-study, our flight school offers students a unique and comprehensive online theory learning system called CBT.
  • The total maximum duration of the course is 18 months. Students can shorten this duration to 4 months by increasing their study intensity.

  • A minimum of 18 hours of the course is allocated to consultations.
  • Consultations are provided in virtual classrooms and are led live by instructors. Lessons in virtual classrooms are organized as video conferences. To join the consultations, all you need is a laptop or tablet with a camera, microphone and internet connection.
  • Instruction in the virtual classroom is carried out in the form of consultations with the instructor, the dates are set by the school within the timeframe determined by the course outline according to the study plan, usually in the 6th-8th week of the study block. Consultations are scheduled on weekends and in the evenings on weekdays.

Upon enrollment in the course, students receive a recommended study plan. The theory course itself is divided into 8-week blocks with fixed start and end dates throughout the year. Individual blocks are separated by short breaks, usually 1 week, to allow students to catch up on missed studies. Students enroll in the study of individual course subjects according to the recommended study plan. We recommend students to study a maximum of 5 subjects in one 8-week block. Each study subject is planned for 7 weeks of active study, with the 8th week designated for review and final testing. For each week of study, students have access to a list of literature for study, additional study materials, videos, workbooks, and tests through eLearning.

Study materials and textbooks are included in the eLearning platform and are included in the course fee.

Our students receive a certificate of completion after each successfully completed subject of study. This allows students to take the Civil Aviation Authority exams in any EU Member State while they are still studying the theory course.
