PPL(H) Theoretical training course – private pilot (helicopter)

PPL(H) Theoretical Training Course – Private Pilot (Helicopter) is designed for those interested in training to obtain a Private Pilot License PPL(H) or Light Helicopter Pilot License LAPL(H). No prior flying experience is required to start the course. Graduates of the course can then apply for the Private Pilot PPL(H) theory examination at the Civil Aviation Authority. The PPL(H) theory examination is a mandatory requirement for obtaining the Private Pilot License PPL(H) or, if applicable, the Light Helicopter Pilot License LAPL(H).

Aviation legislation, principles of flight, general knowledge of helicopters, communication, operational procedures, meteorology, flight planning and monitoring, navigation, human performance.

Graduates of the PPL(H) Theoretical Training Course – Private Pilot (Helicopter) will receive a certificate of successful completion of the PPL(H) Theory course. This certificate enables them to apply for the Private Pilot PPL(H) theory examination at the Civil Aviation Authority in any EU member state. The PPL(H) theory examination is a necessary requirement for obtaining the Private Pilot License PPL(H) or, if applicable, the Light Aircraft Pilot License LAPL(A). The validity of the certificate of successful completion of the PPL(H) Theory course is 1 year from the date of issue.

Description

FORM OF STUDY:

The theory instruction for the PPL(H) Theoretical Training Course – Private Pilot (Helicopter) is individualized. According to the student’s preferences, the entire course can be conducted either remotely (online) or in-person, combined with self-study. In-person theory instruction is usually integrated with flight training.


COURSE DURATION:

  • In total, the course includes 100 hours of study. Of which:
  • Consultation with an instructor 20 hours in-person or online
  • Self-study using CBT (computer-based training) through eLearning provided by our school constitutes 80% of the entire course. For self-study, our flight school offers students a unique and comprehensive online theory learning system called CBT.
  • The maximum duration of the course is 12 months.


CONSULTATIONS:

  • A maximum of 20 hours of the course is allocated to consultations.
  • Consultations with the instructor will be scheduled individually. 
  • Online consultations are provided in virtual classrooms and are led live by instructors. Lessons in virtual classrooms are organized as video conferences. To join the consultations, all you need is a laptop or tablet with a camera, microphone and internet connection.
  • In-person consultations are provided in the classrooms of the school at the Kladno Airport


SELF-STUDY:

You can start the course immediately after purchase, the student will receive access data to our school’s eLearning. The eLearning contains individual subjects of study. Each course then includes presentations and study materials from the school, recommended textbooks to study, supplementary study materials, videos and practice tests. Our school’s eLearning platform also includes exam questions to prepare for examinations at the Civil Aviation Authority.


STUDY MATERIALS:

Study materials and textbooks are included in the eLearning platform and are included in the course fee.


CIVIL AVIATION AUTHORITY EXAMINATIONS:

Upon successful completion of all course subjects, students receive a certificate of completion. Students can then take the Civil Aviation Authority examinations in any EU Member State. Students take the Civil Aviation Authority examination for each subject separately.
