FI(A) – Flight Instructor (Aeroplane)

In accordance with EASA standards: PART-FCL

FI(A) – Flight Instructor (Airplanes) is designed for individuals interested in becoming Flight Instructors FI(A). Any pilot holding a Private Pilot License (PPL) or Commercial Pilot License (CPL) for airplanes, along with the necessary flight experience and theoretical knowledge, is eligible to become a Flight Instructor FI(A). Successfully completing the training results in obtaining the FI(A) qualification – Flight Instructor (Airplanes) with authorization for PPL(A) and LAPL(A) training. This qualification serves as the foundation, enabling pilots to provide a wide range of training, including private pilot instruction, night training instruction, commercial pilot instruction, and even instrument flying instruction once the required criteria are met.

Requirements

Career

Graduates of FI(A) training course can start their aviation career even with a Private Pilot License PPL(A). As a flight instructor, you gain the required flight experience for subsequent professional pilot studies and, simultaneously, earn additional income during your studies.

Description

  • Including methodology and teaching procedures: 25 hours (including 5 hours of consultations with the instructor)*
  • Including technical theoretical knowledge: 100 hours (including 15 hours of consultations with the instructor)

*Holders of an instructor license for another type of aircraft (e.g., helicopter) may credit 25 hours toward the methodology and teaching procedures requirement in theory instruction.

Price

The price you will have to pay to learn to fly and obtain a pilot’s license varies from person to person and depends on many factors. The price should not be the main factor in deciding where to get your pilot’s license. When it comes to flight training, cheap is rarely good.

Basic factors affecting the cost of training:

  • Your goals in aviation
  • Type of aircraft for training with regard to goals
  • How much time can I devote to training

Your goals in flying have a significant impact on how your overall flight training will be conducted. If you want to fly only recreationally, training in an aircraft with lighter avionics will be significantly cheaper than compared to a businessman or future professional pilot.

The price of pilot training for individual pilot licenses is set in connection with the number of flight hours in the curriculum, the time of ground preparations, and theoretical instruction in the classroom. Further, it is necessary to count additional expenses for landing and other airport fees and fees for exams at authorities and payments for obtaining necessary permits for training.
